The question is in the title. If the answer is "Yes," can you briefly tell me how I can run both programs until 12/15? Thank you. |

Classic runs at normal priority, whereas the Seti cruncher under BOINC runs at near Idle priority. This means that when you run both at the same time on one computer, that you will run almost exclusively Classic, with a couple of seconds to spare for BOINC on each hour. |

Technically yes, if both are installed, you can run them at the same time. But this isn't really a good idea since they will be fighting each other over CPU cycles. I believe classic will win because it runs at a slightly higher priority and BOINC will just sit there not doing anything. Then it will miss the 14 day deadline at which point the work units will expire and then you won't get any credit for them once you finally turn them in. Then you will get mad and say bad things about BOINC :) So I would suggest making a clean cut at some point and not running them at the same time. Beat me to it Ageless :) Although FYI classic does not run at "normal" priority - just a slightly higher level of "idle". There are actually 32(?) priority levels in windows even though it only shows you 6. A member of The Knights Who Say NI! For rankings, history graphs and more, check out: My BOINC stats site |
