Until this issue is resolved, I hereby proclaim that the off-topic chat is to be considered on-topic.... >:-) (-:< Yeah, but they're ahead 14 to 3. We'll have to see what they do in the 4th quarter to see what "really" happens.... >:-) (-:< CAPT Siran d'Vel'nahr - L L & P _\\// Winders 11 OS? "What a piece of junk!" - L. The Real Milestone I'm shooting for is to get back into the Top 150 World Wide Total BOINC Rankings. I was there @ one time would still be there but for the fact I Pissed around @ the Shoft Site putting up over 100,000 Credits & I'm paying dearly now trying to make that up @ the Regular BOINC Projects. But the Competition is really fierce the higher you get it seems, for every person I pass it seems like somebody goes by me so I've been stuck @ around the 160 mark for the last month or so ... :( ... ;) |

Not to mention that SHOFT was just a test project. Did you ask them where is your test money? |

1K uFluids (BOINCStats is lagging behind :( ) I've lost 630 on ufluids just because of the cpu max time errors. 12hrs 38min X 5. |

also lost some time (6 hours) due to an "unplanned reboot" of one of the machines, but that's one of the risks when running pre-alpha I guess, just like the irregular and mostly unannounced jobs at BURP. |

Passed 50,000 total BOINC just a while ago... reshuffling goals and resource shares, I was keeping the projects equal on % rank, now I'm putting more effort into the smaller projects. |

You didn't answer my question. OK, I'll ask in a simpler way. If [insert username here] has reached [insert a number here] cobblerstones for e.g. E@H, will the thread allow it according to 02. ...any BOINC project or 04. ...not allow ... other BOINC projects. Definitely you need to change either 02 or 04. Oh!!! Now I get it! (just before hitting Post button). 04 rule has 2 different readings. The logical expression: NOT allow NOT seti OR other is ambiguous and confusing, depending of how you set brackets. The right meaning should be: NOT allow NOT (seti OR other) which equals to: NOT allow NOT seti AND NOT other but I as a mathematician and a programmer interpreted it as: NOT allow (NOT seti) OR other (NOT operator has the highest priority :)) Pls consider rewrite it in some other way. EDIT: tags here were a bit complicated Kitty@SETI team (Russia). Our cats also want to know if there is ETI out there |

That's like asking a vulcan if he needs a Q-Tip. If it's BOINC then it's good. me@rescam.org |

That's like asking a vulcan if he needs a Q-Tip. If it's BOINC then it's good. AFAIR the old rules were strictly SETI-related, other milestones were allowed only as total combined. Yes, I checked, here you are:
That's why PoorBoy started his own thread. Now I see that the policy has changed (to overcome PB, right? ;-)), but the new rules don't express it clearly. Kitty@SETI team (Russia). Our cats also want to know if there is ETI out there |

You didn't answer my question. OK, ............ Well, it can be somewhat difficult for this Vulcan to explain things, that are completely clear to me, so that a mere Human can also understand it. I shall endeavor to simplify here: If you have milestones for SETI, E@H, LHC, Lattice, etc. they are allowed posting in this thread. They are BOINC DC projects. If you run a DC that does NOT run under BOINC, those milestones do not belong here and are NOT allowed. How can you understand what you read if you equate what you read to mathematics? Try not to over-analyze the written word and you may understand the meaning of the words. >:-) (-:< CAPT Siran d'Vel'nahr - L L & P _\\// Winders 11 OS? "What a piece of junk!" - L. ....AFAIR the old rules were strictly SETI-related, other milestones were allowed only as total combined. Yes, I checked, here you are: I did not change the policies of my thread to "overcome PoorBoy". PoorBoy had but a small part in my decision. I chatted with others and read posts concerning my former policy of SETI exclusive posting. #2 below can't be any clearer than it is. Post any BOINC project milestone you like [not verbatim]. We don't have any 1 - 8 year olds here that would tend to not understand what we say. Now, let's get on with the topic of this thread, and drop this other chatter, ok? >:-) (-:< CAPT Siran d'Vel'nahr - L L & P _\\// Winders 11 OS? "What a piece of junk!" - L.
