Fact, Saddam was a bastard, but didn't threaten us directly, he just made life a misery for his own people and kept the Iranians off balance. There were many reasons to itervene in Iraq, besides the ones you mention. Any one of them is reason enough. Among these were: - Iraq broke the peace treaty of 1991 from the last Gulf war on several vital points. They were not allowing inspectors to control possible WMD's, flying in the no-fly zones, firing upon patroling planes in the no-fly zones, to mention just a few. By definition, when one party breaks a peace treaty, the war is then on again. No need to declare a new one. - Genocide against Kurds in the north, by using illegal chemical weapons and killing civilians. - Sheltering terrorist like Abu Nidal. August 19 2002 we receive the news that "he died in his residence in Baghdad." Abu Nidal was #1 on the most wanted list of terrorists before al Qaida and Usama bin Laden. So they haven't found WMD in Iraq. Yet. But we had good reason to beleive they were there. And most important: when inspectors were denied access, we had no way to verify if it was true or not. As it looked, Iraq had much to hide. Saddam made the war inevitable himself by throwing out the inspectors. Now Iraq has turned into the biggest terrorist training camp imaginable. The Islamic terrorists have no problem recruiting thousands of jihadists, training them, and now giving them hands on experience in Iraq. Oh yes, but what we see is the rats coming out in the sun, drawn to attacking westernes, and americans in particular. We didn't make them. They were always there. The arabic culture made them. The arabs teach their young to hate the west and the jews. They have little knowledge about democracy and human rights and despise everyone who think they should know more and change their ways. That's why this war will be decades long. The current generation has to die out and probably the next one too, before we can even begin to see the end of it. This culture must first change their education and respect certain ethics and morals, then bring up a new generation who beleives in this. We should have been in eastern Pakistan where the vipers have nested with impunity. Absolutely. And Sudan, Ethiopia, Marocco, North Yemen, plus a lot of other places. About a year ago USA proclaimed that the 2nd front against terrorism was opened in northern Africa. Most of it is handled behind the stage, but expect to see changes there. Libya has come to their senses, it seems, but others in the area have not. ID: 209646 ·

I also think this is a very personal comment and a cheap shot. You should be ashamed of yourself. I didn't realise how very thin-skinned you are, yet one who lives in a glass house . . . If I drove a troll like Pauly-poo off the boards, then I would be proud of it, not at all ashamed, but I think there were many factors. I notice, again that you seem to have no problem with Zippy, apparently you are blind to faults in anyone you agree with. As for personal insults, when you name PM Blair and President Bush, that is clearly a personal insult. If you can personally insult them, then don't be offended if something I say seems to insult you personally, especially when my comment is in direct response to statments you have made. ID: 209656 ·

We have two cases like this here in Norway just now, both within a few weeks of each other. One of the cases was a man who buried his wife after killing her, just a couple of miles from where I live.
