I've just tried installing BOINC 4.43 onto a new 10.4.2 Mac, and whenever I try to attach to a project I get a "bus error".
I assume it's something in 10.4.2, as BOINC 4.43 has worked on a range of other Macs around the place... I was hoping there was some sort of fix available or update coming - I don't like running the GUI version (if it works on 10.4.2?) as it's pretty ugly and you can't completely hide it if you don't want to look at it.

In that case, go to the Team MacNN web site and download the BOINC MenuBar version 4.44. All you normally see is a small "B" in the menubar, and it seems to run fine (I have 10.3.9, but I haven't seen many negative comments from 10.4.x users). While you're on the Team MacNN site, also download the appropriate version of the optimized SETI client (scroll down the page) by Alex and Rick. You'll be able to run a SETI work unit in less than half the time the standard SETI client takes.
