Hi

It seems that Bonic does only use one CPU of my PowerMac. Two workunits have been downloaded but one of them is waiting to be executed. Is it possible to start more than one workunit at the same time?

Thanks

Sorry, can't anyone help me? My PMac needs 60 to 80 minutes for a workunit but 'stupid' boinc makes only use of one CPU. The second unit is paused until the first one has been finished. That is, however, very nice when playing doom3 at the same time, but not very efficient if the second CPU is idle.

Thanks!

What are running BOINC with = BOINC Manager, Menubar or CLI? Which version - 4.43, or one of the optimized ones? Which version of SETI Client are you using - the standard or one of the Team MacNN optimized versons? What are your preferences for your account set to - specifically, do you have it set to use both CPU?

In the meantime I use the optimized version of the Bonic Manager from MacNN and the optimized client as well. Both versions, don't use the second CPU. I think the setup of the preference is okay. It is 100% for seti that is allowed to use up to 4 CPUs. Is there any opportunity to start the second workunit that is waiting (for a 3rd or 4th CPU?) to be executed.

If you've got your preferences set to use at least 2 processors you should be running two work units, if you've sent an update from the projects tab in BOINC manager since setting that preference.

One thing that looks strange is that your computer is not listed under your account profile. So either you've got it listed under another account or you haven't attached to the SETI project from the BOINC manager (you should have seti@home listed under the projects tab and the downloaded work units listed under the work tab). If not, then are the work units you've got still running under classic seti?
