I finaly suceeded to download all elements to run the SETI-BOINC, but a problem occured. Please read the following messages, and see if you can figure out the cause failure to set in place for a run when the system timer would run the SETI. I have downloaded from the Rosetta project because the SETI project is trouble ridden. The Rosetta project is running on a flip-flop between Rosetta, and the SETI. the SETI download completed finaly, and I guess it tried to start while the Rosetta project was running, but couldn't start because it, or part of the BOINC was in use by the Rosetta, and SETI couldn't take it away, or there is another bug in your BOINC. When you download more than one project. They fight for the program to do there work first. Even if you have a flip-flop in your settings to prevent overload. I think you probably will think the same. Then if so you will as stated have to deal with another bug. I don't have the resources to run both projects at once, so my settings are supposed to run them for an hour, then switch to the other. If that's not what is going I still need to know what's happening, and if I can prevent it from happening again without having to remove from either project because BOINC can't do them without a conflict causing failure of one, or the other? Because another process (running program) has the file open at this time. Two applications cannot update the same file at the same time. You cannot have a word processing document open and in edit mode while your co-worker is working on the same file. Anyway, what can happen is that the BOINC Manager or BOINC Daemon, or even the several Science Applications, could have been working on a file when the program was stopped by an error, loss of power, bad karma, etc. and because the program "locked" the file for writing, it was open at the time of the death. So, with the program stopped becaue of an abnormal ending, well, the "lock" on the file was never removed. Now, the file cannot be accessed until it is deleted or the lock is removed. MY REPLY STARTS HERE: First if you are replying to the Message number#: 204292 I had to copy the messages to show what was going on, and the fact that it repeated over, and over. I must tell you, it even repeated after Rebooting. I finally suspended work on the SETI, as it "WAS" interfering with the running of Rosetta. The BOINC should be able to download, and if set to flip-flop two, or more projects. It should do this without causing the downloading project, or a running project from failing repeatedly. BOINC is still in conflict with my Zoom Text Screen Reader / Magnifier Utility also. I can't use the utility while BOINC is running, or I get a corrupted screen. Also the download once it is complete will fail to run as selected. I get error 500, and another error that I can note only when I try to download again, and it starts to run. I set in each project to change every 60 minutes. That should flip - flop back & forth between the projects. I disabled the Rosteea project on my machine to try and complete the downloads, and maybe start the SETI again.
