Inside of that link is this: Experts say it has been common practice in both Republican and Democratic administrations for policy makers to take lobbying jobs once they leave office, and many of the same companies seeking contracts in the wake of Hurricane Katrina have already received billions of dollars for work in Iraq.

It's not one party....

Sad thing is there are alot of small business contractors that can and would "do" good work for nothing to aid in the effort, but get no credit for their efforts, politicians get that.

And your point is?

Both sides do this. Democrats as well as Republicans. Always have and probably always will.

Funny how Bechtel and Halliburton used to come up during the Reagan years but both companies suddenly dropped off the face of the earth for 8 years during Clinton's presidency even though they both received many lucrative government contracts during that time. A Republican gets back into office and Bechtel and Halliburton become the media focus again.

But should people also remain silent?

Silent? No, not at all. But the implication here is that the Bush administration is doing something wrong. Report when there is evidence of that, not just innuendo.

I agree Tom. What set me off on this was the point that it was an article aimed at making people think something was wrong when it really isn't. The facts that are relevent in the article aren't illegal and they just had to rehash the Cheney/Halliburton thing again.

In all respects, if only the needed facts were used and the innuendo stripped out, this news story should have rated no more than a paragraph or two in the financial section.
