I have personally hit the 200,000 mark in Seti, and almost 325,000 in all projects!

Have hit the 85% ranking on all five of my BOINC projects - that's over 15000 SETI. Looking at what it would take to reach (and hold) the 90% mark, I don't think I have the CPU horsepower... plus I'm wanting to give more time to Rosetta and the other "small" projects, so I have a new set of milestones to work on!

I don't want to upset anybody, so:
"06. This thread will allow helping new users only if related to SETI/BOINC and the topic of this thread." ;)
Obviously, I'm new to the project... in a way. I used to run SETI when it had a different client, which was much less efficient, IMHO.
Anyway, how do you know if you've reached even the smallest milestone? Also, (not that I really care too much) I remember that they used to give out certificates that you could print, if you were proud of yourself ;) ... do they still do that?
Thanks from a newbie :)

I guess you're speaking of so-called Classic SETI.

Anyway, how do you know if you've reached even the smallest milestone?

You set your milestones for yourself. E.g. you may celebrate reaching your first 1000 credits (my congratulations BTW). For others it may be 50000, 100000 or even 1 million as well. It's only you who set goals and reach them.

Also, (not that I really care too much) I remember that they used to give out certificates that you could print, if you were proud of yourself ;) ... do they still do that?

No, unlike the Classic SETI, there is no centralized statistics bookkeeping, certificate issue and other awards. Instead any group (or even any single user) can do it itself. E.g. you already can download and print your first 2 certificates for 500 and 1000 credits from here (see links at the bottom of the page). Me personally prefer to use this site for my statistics (though I'm not a member of the team), but there are a lot of other similar sites, you can choose any you like.

Thanks from a newbie :)

Sergey pretty much summed it up well. For the certificates, you can also go here, which is on the SETI front page under Your Account. You have a selection to suit your fancy.... >:-) (-:<

Achieved 3 milestones this past week.

Reached 50,000 for Seti
reached 100,000 Boinc combined
and moved into the top 3 percent for Boinc combined :)

98SE XP2500+ @ 2.1 GHz Boinc v5.8.8

And God said"Let there be light."But then the program crashed because he was trying to access the 'light' property of a NULL universe pointer.

Hey Misfit, how did you manage to stop at exactly 1000 Seti Classic WUs (at the cut-off date, of course)? ;)
