Right, since I know a lot of folks who were on Pirates@Home back in the day are also here, including many of the project admins, could someone please surf to the Pirates project's old address and tell me what's going on? Is the project coming back? At first glance, it looks more like someone's idea of a joke but if so, why is the Pirates address being redirected?

Anyone with any insights?

[EDIT: For reference, the URL I hit before being redirected was http://pirates.vassar.edu/ , which until today had a placeholder page displayed.]

[Further Edit: Thank you, Ulrich!]

See over at Einstein Boards: What is Pirates?
Someone registered the DNS-Entry for sentimental reasons and placed a mirror of the original site there ;)

Especially the Einstein screensaver description is found there :D

Arrrr!
Last thing I wanna be doin’ is messin’ with the minds o’ Pirates.

Raven, yours is not the 1st complaint I’ve received in this regard.
I’ve changed the title on top to ‘Pirates@Home Archive’
Hopefully this will make it more obvious what these pages are.

I’m amazed at the loyalty of Pirates. To be checking for life of this scuttled project is a testiment to how much fun we had there.
