I just switched over to BOINC and I get a few work units downloaded, sparatically.... my PCs work on them... then I never see any credits under the project tab, so I am assuming that they never got uploaded....

plus I get messages like the following:

SETI@home - 2004-07-19 15:19:43 - Scheduler RPC to http://setiboincdata.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi succeeded
SETI@home - 2004-07-19 15:19:43 - Message from server: No work available
--- - 2004-07-19 15:19:43 - General prefs: from SETI@home (last modified 2004-07-19 13:14:24)
--- - 2004-07-19 15:19:43 - General prefs: using your defaults
SETI@home - 2004-07-19 15:19:43 - No work from project
SETI@home - 2004-07-19 15:19:43 - Deferring communication with project for 1 hours, 0 minutes, and 0 seconds

the other system worked more or less consistently.... well this one does too, just consistently poorly.....

am I alone in this or are others having problems too??

No WU's to download is a temporary problem.

The S@H/Boinc system is not working on a base of processed WU's but on a base of credits.

To get credits, your claimed credits must be compared to the claimed credits of 2 other PC's. As long the are no 2 other claimed credits for the same WU, credits cannot be granted. There is also a deadline of reporting of 14 days for each WU.
In normal condition, credits are awarded between some 5 to 10 days, depending on the speed of processing of the 2 other PC's.

To have some more explanation about credits calculation you can have a look here.

Greetings from Belgium.

Well that's interesting. I thought the issue might be along those lines. So what happens if 2 PCs don't return the same WU I returned? Do I not receive any 'credits' for it?

I guess I just need to have more patience about this new way of doing things.

*sigh*

If this would be the case, which is quite unlikely, the same WU will be send out after the reported deadline to 2 other PC's.
