AFter reviewing the majority of the message boards to try and answer my various problems with BOINC Seti, it seems quite clear that it is poorly supported :(
A significant number of people are unable to correctly configure the first start up of it.. because its nearly impossible to find the user guide on the web site!!!!! The question crops up regularly and is answered time and again.
(I know my way around and it took ME nearly an hour to locate the user guide!)
BOINC seems to to spend a great deal of time waiting.. for apparently nothing and when it does run, it never seems to clear up after itself... i've directories and directories of old processed work units hat are just left lying around.
This whole thing seems to be a MASSIVE step DOWN from classic setiathome.

I've raised these concerns with both the setiathome people AND the BOINC people on several occasions and, as yet, nothing has been addressed.
