DL'd the latest version of BOINC, got my first WU on it with no problem, thought everything was OK, until the processing started. With the previous BOINC version, I had no problems. I now have (according to Task Manager, Win ' 98SE) 4 prgs. running for BOINC - BOINC, BOINC Manager, Setiathome_4, and Winoldap (which, if I close it, BOINC stops running), and my computer has slowed down immeasureably. I DID uninstall my old BOINC version before installing the latest one. Apparently the latest version does not play well with Zone Alarm , either. As long as I have ZA set for nothing or " Engage Internet Lock" , all is well, but if I set ZA to " Stop All Internet Activity" (which worked fine with the previous BOINC), BOINC ceases to run, which I just discovered after almost a week of waiting for my WU to complete - should have been like a 24 hour thing, tops. I have dial-up access, so I am not always connected to the Internet, and prefer the Stop Activity setting when I am not connected. My computer is always on, tho, and BOINC is supposed to run all the time. Can someone please help me RE: my ZA settings, and what seems to be too many BOINC files in Task Manager??? TIA, Ginny
