Running BOINC and BOINCGUI on RH9...if the gui displays
a result as "uploaded" am I to assume that it means
the "result has been reported'?

should I add -return_result_immediately to the end of
the executable string?

thanks....

Uploaded only means that the data has been sent back to the server. It has not been reported yet. Under normal operation, it will be reported when you ask for more work. In the event that you don't ask for more work before that work unit would expire, the scheduler will check with the data server 24 hours before the deadline to see if it has been returned. Alternately, if you return a work unit less than 24 hours before its expiration, the data server will notify the scheduler automatically.

When the work unit gets reported, it will disappear from the list in boincgui.

If you add the -return_results_immediately flag, boinc will contact the scheduler immediately after each upload and report it right away. Uploaded work will also be reported if you start boinc with the -update_prefs flag, but only at the time you start it (it won't continue to report uploaded work immediately like with the -return_results_immediately flag).
