The screensaver seems to work ok, it begins when it should and does work on whatever work unit is in there. However, I do not seem to be receiving any new work units, nor am I asked to transmit finished work units back like the old seti. The BOINC manager says it is disconnected when I go into it, so I do not know what is going on there. I do have a doument in the dock for setiathome_4.18_powerpc_apple-darwin, but I am not sure when it showed up or what it's function is. All and all, this setup is very confusing. Does anyone have any answers concerning any of this? ALSO, THERE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ANY INFO AVAILABLE IN THE BOING MANAGER WHEN I GO IN THERE? Looking for any help here on anything about the current seti@home setup.

I have seen this problem with the Mac Version of he BOINC Advanced GUI w/ Manager on my iMac G5 running OS 10.4.2. If you quit BOINC and then restart, it doesn't connect properly. The fix is to restart the computer. Unfortunately, everytime you manually quit BOINC w/Boinc Manager, you will have to restart.

NOTE: This does not apply if you just close the BOINC Manager window. Only if you actually quit BOINC.

I had the same problem. Detaching and re-attaching the project in BOINC manager solved it.
(see thread "Boinc won't get any new work" in this forum)
At the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Yes, but detaching and re-attaching is a last resort. It should never be used as the first option. A simple restart of the computer will fix it almost all of the time. (Have boinc configured to start on start-up)
