Greetings all ...

Though health is still none to great, I have been doing work in the background and I am ready to rejoin the active world of SETI. Most likely I will only hang out here for awhile with a few posts ...

The documentation has been falling way behind, but I do have a new version I will upload tomorrow (hopefully real early before most of us are awake). I still have link issues and since it looks like BOINC Beta is going away, that part will gradually fade as I pull links.

To comensate, I am seeking permission of Predictor for their site so I may start working on using examples of differences. Still not sure how to do that in a way that make sense. But, hang in there ... more good things comming.

As always, I ry to respond to e-mails in a timely manner, I do have a backlog of issues built up so I am not sure how I am going to get there from here ... sigh ...

Well, I am bad and I am also back ... sort of ... kinda maybe ... :)

Heck, with all the changes I had over 500 broken links, I got that down in the 200's, with most of them (I think) in the BOINC side from the BOINC Beta site goinig quiet.

But, I will be trying to make improvements and welcome your input ... also, my favorite: John McLeod VII; must not forgettith him ... :)

New material to come will include all the lecture outlines I used when I taught computer science courses (I will protect the identity of the institutions lest I offend) ... The need conversion and then updating and expanding. So, more links for people to bypass.

Though I do see that I am getting some traffic ... so, even if it is only one person, once a week, that is enough to justify adding material ...

Welcome back to the land of the living (bad), Paul. :D

We'll be smacking John around the ears with that typo for a long time to come... hehehehe.

Just give the word, and I'll dive in to check your site for broken links, typos, misdemeanors and hits with an alligator. ;)

John,

Either thought was just fine with me ... :)

I thought that you really meant the one, but typed the other. In any case, they are both correct.

Guido,

Well, by the end of the day, I could neither type nor walk in a straight line .... :( sigh ...

Anyway, back to "normal", though I told my doctors last week that it has been so long I no longer recognize normal.

Woke up later than expected, but the updated site is being posted now. Jord, you are not going to have trouble finding broken links, there is at least 200 of them since I tested it yesterday. That is better than the 500 I started with, but not that good. Don't forget the felony's while looking for the misdemeanors ...

Does anyone know why I can't seem to upload restults to SETI Classic? I am still running Classic on my Mac and It has nearly 20 results built up but can't seem to get them reported even though my queue program is / has been trying to report constantly since yesterday.

Welcome back Paul. Wish you the very best !

As for S@H Classic, it seems there are some problems reading through some posts here.

Greetings from Belgium.

> sorry paul

Guido,

ok, commencing straight talk:

My fault ... actually; I was mixing jokes and straight lines ...

I am an english only speaker (well, I know swear words in several more; but they don't count)... so you got me beat.

My fortune (or misfortune, depending on your mood) is that I have a, sometimes incapacitating disability. When it is bad, I have trouble walking. When it is worse, I have trouble typing. When it is reeally bad, well, lets not go there in front of the children.

I was not tracking too well yesterday and I should have held off posting. I am not much better now, but I don't want you to think it was you. I shall try to be more careful.

So, if it comes across strange it is most likely my sense of humor has gotten the best of me, or my other thing, which I and my family tell jokes about; what the heck, it is our disability I can do what ever I please with it ...

Hmmm, I thnk I forgot to turn on joke mode ...

Thierry,

Yeah, I noticed I was getting occasional uploads. Finally got a full buffer again. My mac is the last I have doing classic and it knocks off two every three hours. Love dual processor machines. I just wish it was fasster... the 2.5 GHz ones are out now and mine is only a 2.0 GHz ... how can I face the neighbors...

Even worse, I can only have 6 now (well, if they are pentiums) I am wondering if the G5's are running cooler? Hmmmm... food for thought!
