oops SETI..missed that one..lol

I just finished reading many threads related to this..however I didn't find a clearcut answer..so I went to BOINC website and it indicates that SETI@home scheduler is "offline". Is it safe to assume no new work for a while? Anyone have any idea how long they will be down?

Thanks!!

It's not down, they switch DNS, so it'll take a while for all the DNS servers around the world to update the change. From the Tech News:

"...we made a DNS switch this morning moving all scheduler traffic off the Cogent link and onto the Berkeley campus net. This should be transparent to all parties involved as the scheduler bandwidth is minimal (far less than the SETI@home web server, which is also on the campus net), but while the new DNS maps propogate some users will be unable to contact the scheduler. This should clear up relatively quickly (several hours for most of the world, maybe days for the few with ISPs that have finicky DNS servers)."

Since you started this thread, why not edit the topic title then?
You can do it from any post you posted in here, just edit that post (within it's 60 minute window). See that subject bar at the top? You can edit it, weird, nuh? ;)
