First my inquiry, then my configuration...

I am one of those that is still on dialup, uploading results has not been a problem, but reporting has been. Typically BOINC would automatically retry every 58 seconds. With this, I would let it continue trying while I was online. Sometimes it would take a day or two as I am not usually online very long at hom, but they would finally report Now, BOINC is backing off for days at a time before it tries to report again. Is there anyway to force it into a 58 second loop again?

I do have one system on broadband that doesn't have any issues, but it is no at the same location.

BOINC 4.45
S@H 4.18

Thanks,
Gary

As soon as you have one successful connection it will reset the timer.

When you say at the next connection, does that mean when a result is uploaded or reported? I have uploaded about 25 results since the timer went sky high.

Thanks

to force BOINC to report any uploaded WU's, go to the projects tab. Hightlight the project that has reports ready, then push "update".

I already try to force the update, but since I am on a dial up connection BOINC will either try once on its own or I will have to keep manually forcing an udate as long as I am online. I was curious if there was a way to get BOINC back to the 58 second delay. I just returned another 9 results, but am unable to report.

Thanks

Upload Manually and Update Manually atleast once a Day. I am on Dial Up and have the Exact same problem with not being On All The Time. It is Very Easy to Manually Upload and Update.

The upload is not a problem as I will do this usually once a day. The update to report is where the problem arises. While I am online, I will usually try to update to report every couple of minutes. To try an make things easier, I have set this machine for "No New Work" until I can get the current results reported. Previously when BOINC would go into the automatic 58 second delay, I would leave the system connected at night after I went to bed and it would eventually report the results. Unfortunately the delay that it will give now is on the order of days, not hours, or even minutes.

Thanks
