I just dl'd the BOINC (3.2) and installed it. It was recommended that the "old" version be removed before installing the "new"...I did so.
I dont seem to have anything that looks like the "old" screen saver. I get a dialogue box with tabs - most of the panels are blank except for MESSAGES and DISK.
Have i undone something? does the BOINC run as a screen saver? I will sorely miss the screen saver.
I have a (2) computer network on a cable modem. One is a WinXP the other a Win2K. Should i install BOINC on both? I had the "old" version running on both.
It does run as a screen saver, but you must sign up with your old account, when you have done this you must add the project url and the activation key, this will allow you to download WU and to get it looking like the old seti, right click the Wu you are doing and click show graphics then minimise BOINC.

BOINC does have a screensaver. You will have to edit the preferences that windows provides (blank screen and time to blank) because the defaults do not work quite right. Other screensaver settings are set on the website under project specific preferences.
Just deactivating the old version may be better advice than removing it. There have been problems getting work with the BOINC version so you may want to wait until you get a queue full before unistalling the old one.
I personally like BOINC alot more than the original seti and changed all my computers over as soon as it when live.
