Preferences set for "always run" - but processing of work unit stops after about 1/2 minute after screen saver comes up. How to get the processing to run always? It only runs when machine is in use. |

Check your windows settings and make sure that stand by and hibernate type settings are disabled. Also make sure the hard drive is not set to shut down. It may also be a problem with openGL, make sure your drivers are updated. John Keck BOINCing since 2002/12/08 |

I had the same problem, even though my preferances were set to always run, and even though I have all hybernation turn off on my system, the computer would set here idle 10-12 hours at a stretch. So I went to FILE in the boinc window and change the check from RUN BAISED ON PREFERENCES, to ALWAYS RUN. Like they had any work available. Took two weeks off and ran classic seti for a while. Things are looking up now. I got 10 work units in one shot this morning. |

I found an answer to my own question; don't run the SETI screensaver. I switched to a different screensaver, and work runs all the time now. SETI screensaver running stops processing of the work units. Maybe "they" will fix this some day. Chuck |
