The new upload dataserver seems to be doing fine now. No more pending for upload WU's on my machines. However, the number of WU's waiting to be validated are getting close to 300K. According to the server status page, sah_validate1 through sah_validate4 are all up and running, no? Any idea?

They are running and validating... It is just the the incoming rate for processed results is faster than the validators can churn through.

When the incoming rate settles back down to a normal load, the validators will catch up.

Oh my. That's a normal number, I would think. In the past couple of days they had it validate 2 per day. With an incoming load of almost 1.8 million units, it tends to be normal that everything is now stressed out.

Why not wait for another couple of days?

The day and age of miracles is yet to come. Instant gratification. Instant credits. Instant validating. Instant coffee.

(Sorry. ;) and edited. I sound like I work there... we... ;))

I would agree except... well I havn't received any credit today at all. All my uploads seem to have gone through but I have had about a hundred pending all day.

Aardvark, why don't you wait a little bit more? It's been about 24 hours since the new upload server got online, there are still a load of units awaiting to come back in. How many? Oh, around 1.4 million.

Rome wasn't built in a day, so 1.8 million units can't get in in one day and won't be validated and given credit to in one day.

You're still bound by the fact that at least 3 units will have to be returned and validated, before any credit is being given out.

Nah, I think there is no credit written at all for the moment. My several hundred WUs must be well mingled within the 1.8 mio., and yet my credit has stayed the same since one day.

This is no complaint - I'm one of those queer guys who just keep crunching and do not measure their life quality in SETI credits... I just see that Aadvark most probably ist right with his statement.

Can anybody falsify?

Well, according to the stats Here, you've gotten just under 400 per day. Not as many as your highest days, but not the fewest either. With the uploads throttled, so were the validations and credit awards. Now that the uploads are flowing more freely, the credit will catch up too.

It's a small step for mankind, but in the last hour or so the first of my pending results received credit. (a jump of about 24... bu-yah!) Things seem to be flowing normally, albeit a bit slower than usual, but that's certainly to be expected.

Thx Scarecrow

Didn't think of looking up the bottom table... must be the age.

BTW: Three weeks ago I decided to move my small computer farm from classic to BOINC, after boincing with just one 'test'-machine for nearly one year. 't was not just the right moment...

Ouch. You moved right in the middle of this hiccough? I feel for you! I hope things have started working like they should.

Validators ARE validating...

I just watched the "waiting for validation" queue go from 426k to 414k in the span of about 1/2 hour.

And credits "pending" on several hosts get credited. Far more than I expected have been credited now.

Crunch, crunch, crunch!

Just a thought, but maybe they have artificially slowed the validating for now, as to not make the mistake as last time where people's RACs jumped a ton, and then when they started to level out people complained.

Theorietically it would be smart to do something like this to keep the peace.

Crunch, crunch, crunch!

Not much to crunch in a bit. Ready to send: Approximately 8 .. That's at 15:00 UTC.

And the magic words:

Yeah and I'm out of predictor units too (there was work...). I have just got lots of lovely LHC WU's though :)
