Hi
I've compiled the client to run on a sun blade 1500 with Solaris 10.
The prog loads and runs, but i get the following message:

2005-07-19 11:08:11 [SETI@home] Sending scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi
2005-07-19 11:08:11 [SETI@home] Reason: Requested by user
2005-07-19 11:08:11 [SETI@home] Requesting 8640 seconds of work, returning 0 results
2005-07-19 11:08:12 [SETI@home] Scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi succeeded
2005-07-19 11:08:12 [SETI@home] Message from server: platform 'sparc-sun-solaris2.10' not found

No work is actually carried out.
Is this due to the "platform" solaris 10???????

cheers
dan.

This may not be the definitive answer, but having run into a similar problem while trying out various self-compiled versions on Linux, it might shed a bit of light. My problem with the 'unknown platform' message was due to incorrectly formated or a missing app_info.xml file. I have no experience with Solaris, so there may be other issues beyond this. But it's a fairly easy place to start. Here's a link to the 'Make your own client software' page, check out the section on the app_info.xml file towards the bottom. Good luck!

Build your own client
