Maybe this will get noticed by someone who can make a difference... I have been pretty hard core with seti since June 8th, completing 70+ work units... I do it every second, I am not playing games... Even when I am watching movies download, or just check stuff online.. I have seti running. And now with the new version of Seti@home/BOINC I will lose my 72 WU that I worked my ass off to get, Just because I wasn't a member before May 17th (I think that was the date). Anways. I want my time back.. I want that added to my current amount. Why can't it be put together with my new account. I have serious thought about just quiting folding thats how upset i am.. I mean at first it was a contest to see who could get to 100 first. But now.. Its like I feel my computer is just sitting around when seti isn't running. I spent a lot of money on this baby. And I will run it into the ground until i update it again.. Till then I want my WU back. my old name was auiotour@comcast.net.... Please someone give me a email address, or something I can get in touch with someone so that I can get my WU back. Its just not fair.

You haven't lost them, if your refering to the SAH V1 stats, they will be migrated over again when we prepare to shutdown the older project servers.

The stats listed on this site were a snapshot of the stats a month or so ago.

I believe our DBA is working on an upgrade tool for accounts created after that date.

I'll find out more on Monday.

There is still a possibility that once the original project is shut down that the data will be updated to include the final numbers. They haven't promised it, but they also haven't refused either.

If they do this it may then be possible to merge the updated data into your account here, but it's all still just a maybe at this point.

EDIT: Well, let me throw in an edit here. I guess it's NOT just a maybe anymore.

Rom: good news! Thanks for the official word. And not just on this one. We all appreciate it when you take a few minutes to clarify points of debate on these boards.

I think I will also have to agree with Andrew on this one... either that or maybe a girlfriend. Just don't try to make her BOINC. I don't think the 'human brain client' is out of beta yet - side effects may include cramps, vomiting or death.

But seriously... crying over 70 seti-classic work units really isn't worth it... I have almost 90x as many and I really wouldn't care if they wiped the database back to 0. But then again I guess we are all in it for our own reasons. I do it to keep my computers busy and contribute to this great experiment in distributed computing. You do it for stats bragging rights. It's all good as long as we just keep crunching :)

Of course I say this while running a website exclusively dedicated to BOINC stats :) But to tell you the truth, that was just a project to give mem motivation to learn php.

Happy crunching!

> Its just not fair.

If you've read the links others posted, you already know that "classic" work units are completely separate from BOINC work units.

You really shouldn't care about the numbers anyway. And getting uptight over 72 is almost funny. I had somewhere over 3640, and now I'm at zero for the new client. It's no big deal. Do it for science.

> I have serious thought about just quiting folding thats how upset i am.

To the best of my knowledge, folding has to do with amino acids and proteins, not ETI. That's an entirely different project.
