This is the exact message: "probably unknown NewHeur_PE virus" I know is not true but something has changed since version 4.70 and now NOD32 give me an alert with 4.71. Someone else have NOD32 and BOINC 4.71 installed? Saludos / Greetings |

Since, I just got this notebook yesterday and installed Mcafee Virus Scan, and updated it prior to the installation of Boinc at all, and I didn't get any such warning. [edit] I've just done a full scan and found no virii on my new notebook. I'm doing a full scan of my old notebook and will update you as to the result. Yes, I have 4.71 on both |

It's most probably a socalled false positive scan. Here's what NOD32 Setup (Under NOD32) says of it: If a scan finds a “Probable NewHeur_PE virus foundâ€, please do the following: 1. Place a tick in the Quarantine check-box 2. Select Delete 3. Send the quarantined file to Eset: sample@nod32.com This file can be found here: C> Program files> Eset> Infected |

Well, it took a bit longer since it's a slower machine, but NO Virii found on the other puter |

This is the exact message: "probably unknown NewHeur_PE virus" NOD32 uses advanced Heuristic scanning, a method of detecting new viruses based on known viruses before definitions are available. By it's very nature it will detect the occasional false positive.
