Have you heard about Gasbuddy.com?
This is a site where you can find the cheapest gas prices in your area or elsewhere, and you can post prices yourself.
We have a forum there that discusses BOINC, Predictor and Seti:
Gasbuddy BOINC Forum

Please consider joining the Gasbuddy BOINC Team

thank you!

I'm with b_fart_rant (the one with the giant advertising logo stuck to his name) and bill (Jaaku & Co reach for the stars and beyond ... Yes, let's reach for the stars!!!). I really love to pay more for gasoline then I have to. I wouldn't go to the largest non-profit site that lists gas prices for free even if it would save me hundreds of dollars a year.

HELLO! This one is a no brainer. Unless you are filthy rich or ride your bike, You can't go wrong to check it out. Good for the U.S. and Canada. No spam, Free to access, you don't even have to join to check the prices in your area.

We're doing you a favor.

It was funny bill. I got it.

Your in the United States. There's a site for every State. Your saying there is no gas price postings for your town?

Join up and start posting your local stations. It's your duty. :)

Relax guys, take it easy.
Bill, I understand that you were making a harmless comment, no harm done.
You might also be living in a remote area where they don't have gas stations, I understand - good market for horses...:-) (my business brain is speaking)

Everyone is free, you don't have to join, it's just a great idea, that's all.

Gasbuddy.com is spreading in a rapid pace. It has a nice point system that gets you free gas and other stuff.
Thought you might want to join ahead of other people and get points, "climb-the-ladder" :)

Also our BOINC Team has a bunch of fun people and we need more members to be on the Top10, that's all.

Taking a look to the site or the team will take a sec for you and please consider joining, at least to get an idea. You won't loose anything.

see you soon!

Need to have some "Number crunching" in this thread. Multiply gas prices you (US) have by 2 to 3 and you have European petrol - sorry - gas prices. And we still drive.

1,17 euro/litre for 95 octane, 0,80 euro/litre for diesel. Prices in Finland today.

Could it be that US computers are also crunching Seti@Home work units at a very low cost? 3,0 GHz PC in Europe is equal to 1,5 GHz PC in USA?

Of course, lots of smileys, winks etc.

Juha, that's a great Number Crunching you've done.
Now this post is officially part of the Number Crunching forum...;)

But, if you join our Boinc Team, then you will be a true number cruncher and a fun person as well :-)
