I just transferrred from Seti to Boinc. Ever since I did that Ihave been having problems with file sharing mainly with WINMX. It seems that no one can cannot to me or me to them until I exit BOINC. Any help would be appreciated. |

Not sure what to tell you. I'm running W2K and saw no problems when I migrated to BOINC. Mark |

I don't know why that would be either. If WINMX is some file share program then I haven't heard of it. If it is simply Windows Millenium Edition you are referring to, in my opinion that is the worst operating system Microsoft has ever made. I crashed a Mac once 3 times inside of 10 minutes and it was still more reliable than that version of Windows. So if that's what your running, upgrade to Win2k or XP. They actually DO work. about the only thing I can think of is that maybe WINMX is trying to use the same port as BOINC. BOINC appears to be listening on port 31416 - I believe for RPC calls. If WINMX tries to use that port as well, you will obviously have problems. |
