Compiled version 4.70 on sol8 without problems but this appears when trying to run it:

2005-07-08 15:48:40 [SETI@home] Message from server: platform 'sparc-sun-solaris2.8' not found

2005-07-08 15:48:41 [SETI@home] Deferring communication with project for 23 hours, 59 minutes, and 58 seconds

... uptime/top still shows that the client is running?!?!

Any ideas?

Thanks

You need to compile the seti app, or use a binary from the third party site.
Look on setiathome.berkeley.edu under communtity/porting and optimatizion.
