System: P4, 1.6ghz. (blnt5) Mandriva 10.2 - Le, new install. Boinc V4.43 Einstein & Seti clients set at 50%. Boinc switches at hourly intervels, and sometimes the cpu time and the percent done values do not increment. ps shows no increase in cpu time and top shows that the client isn't running, but BoincMgr and BoincView both think that the client IS running. Boinc problem? Client problem? OR Linux problem? |

Try restarting the client if top shows nothing running. It usually works on my SuSE Linux 9.1 running both Seti and Einstein on a Pentium II. The Seti deadlines are much longer than Einstein's and I have given a 200 prority to Einstein. Too bad it always downloads two WU at a time. BOINC 4.43. |

I had tried restarting the Boinc client, which didn't correct the problem. I might have 'fixed' the problem tho. I changed my preferences from 'leave in memory' to 'don't leave in memory', and it seems to be really running after each context switch. I'll keep watching it, and post if this didn't 'fix' it. |
