Looks pretty normal to me. My screenshot:

You must have a hyperthreading CPU.

All of his Computers listed are AMD's, I don't think any of the AMD CPU's are capable of Hyper threading but I may be wrong on that ... ???

This is a "known" problem. Most common in my experience on OS-X, Linux users have reported it too ... and there are other reports of it showing up in the Windows version.

In effect, BOINC does not properly shut down one of the running Science Applications, or the science application doesn't listen. So, what happens is you can get several processes running at one time. I have personally seen 4 different science apps running on the PowerMac even though it only has 2 processors. I did make a bug base entry and you can add to it if you like ...

The last time I looked it was "unconfirmed" though I have/had screen shots of the multiple processes ....

But you are losing CPU time. The context switches and cache flushes are costing you.

How are you running 4 or 6 WUs at a time on an AMD?

OK, I thought they might be in the same location.

I know one way that an "orphan" instance of boinc.exe is created, but I have not been able to get two instances running at the same time.

When those two instances were running at the same time, did you look at the CPU use with Task Manager?

100% on both running processes?

50% on both for 100%

One at 0% and one at 100%

By the way, IHT SETI TEAM, both Intel and AMD called. They want you to cease and desist your strange silicone cross-breeding program and will be arriving soon to collect the hybrid hyperthreading barton 3200+ that you have. ;)

May I suggest using the official compile of the Setiathome executable? You appear to be running the optimized compile that was released recently.
