How do I find out what happened to my group the "Klingon Assault Group? I'm running Seti Classic. When I went to my usual link it was gone.

I guess when answering the original question means to ask it again in a different forum.

There is no need for smart remarks. I posted it here so I wouldn't be posting in the wrong forum as you pointed out. I don't know what that stuff is you linked me to? My group had around 55 people in it.

There is no need for smart remarks.

Sure there is. More than a need for redundant questions.
I posted it here so I wouldn't be posting in the wrong forum as you pointed out.

So you posted again. My answer wasn't good enough. I could spice it up and lie.

(I'll try again.) Your Classic SETI team had "around 55" people. It looks like only 7 people are crunching the Boinc app. Members with 0 cobblestones do not show up in their team listing.

It might help if you watched our Flash animated Posting Guide. (thanks Jord!)

LTCmdr.Ko, As you are probably aware, SETI Classic is being shut down, we don't have the exact time frame (I seriously doubt that even Dr Anderson has it), but the team is slowly re-purposing the computers that were running Classic for BOINC.

The choice to move to BOINC or not is yours, and I think you would enjoy it, however, in the mean time, here is the link to your team:

http://setiathome2.ssl.berkeley.edu/stats/team/team_20064.html

It appears that the URL was changed (slightly), probably when BOINC was moved to the main SETI site.

Finally, a desent person to talk to. Thanks for your help. When it comes to Bonic I don't even know what it is. I've been crunching Seti since 1999 (7,950 units so far)and that's all I know.

Because when I go to my groups main page and hit the link at the bottom of the page for the "Seti Main Page" it goes to a totaly new home page and I followed the link to the forums.

I tried to do what you said you did. Is it this page, you mean? Yes, this is the Seti BOINC main page!

Maybe you should try this board instead? Here you can ask your questions and get answers.

Fuzzy... be nice... ish?

And LtCmdr Ko, I do suggest that you give BOINC a chance, clearly you've tried it before (you have a RAC and credits) but I can't tell when. The client has improved greatly in the past little while, and I do suggest that you give it a try... I generally suggest a week or so before making a decision.

eberndl,
This guy, LtCmdr. Ko, comes over here, posts the same question, twice, neither time in the Number Crunching or Questions/problems forums, calls BOINC by the wrong name, calls the project "crap" and after this behavior you tell Fuzzy to be nice? You know, this fool is just the type who will go back to the Classic boards and talk about how we here at BOINC are rude and unfriendly.

As far as I am concerned, there is nothing about his posts that would make me want to offer him any help; but Fuzzy gave him links to the sites that he might want to see, even though she didn't sugar-coat her message to save his "feelings" (nor did he deserve any such politeness).

Tom, please be nice to eberndl. We know each other and she knows I have sharp claws, and she didn't mean anything offensive. I don't take any offense!

OK, Fuzzy, I'm not so mad at eberndl as I am at LtCmdr. Ko.

But you see, rather than trying to _help_ everyone just said "oh, it's gone."

Clearly it wasn't. In his (I'm assuming you're male, correct me if I'm wrong) first post, he simply asked where his Classic team was, rather than redirecting him to SETI Classic (where he would have evenutally found it, I'm sure).

Ko was completely polite until the "how to post" link was put in. There was no reason to be condescending, and members of this board were. Further, Ko was only told (in the science board) that this was not "sceince".. there was no suggestion of where he should post... Finally, I think this is a fine question for the Cafe, because it has to do with teams. Or do we now have to get rid of the teammember recruiting thread too?

PEOPLE!!! Remember that SETI Classic is not the enemy!!! They are on the same team as we are, and when we make rude comments to people who are asking honest questions we put their hackles up!!!

Okay,

not that somebody is interested in my opinion, but this thread is going to be a candidate for some moderation soon.

Well said eberndl.

BTW, Fuzzy refers to you as "she", so you're female?
