My Global Warming Theory

There are two undisputed facts of science that are of common knowledge. The first is the fact that the earth has a 23 ½ degree tilt which results in our planetary weather. When it is warm in the Northern Hemisphere is cold in The Southern Hemisphere and visa versa. The second fact is the fact that the moon is departing the vicinity of the earth at the rate of 1 ½ inches a year. We know this because there was a laser reflective mirror left on the moon by astronauts during the 60’s. This mirror allows exact measurements of the distance between the earth and the moon. In my life the moon has moved 8 ¼ feet further away from Mother Earth. NASA says that as the moon departs our planet the earth’s tilt will increase. Thinking back to the fact that when it is hot in the North it is cold in the South that means that the planet has a total tilt of 47 degrees. Further tilt would place the planet further into the hot zone ( toward Venus ) and farther into the cold zone ( toward Mars ). There is a very thin band in space where Earth can exist with ideal temperature. Depart either side of that band and we have weather that is either too hot or too cold. Additionally as the tilt increases earth quake activity will increase. I think that the collective efforts of Science should be to figure a way to move the moon back a bit closer to Mother Earth before it is too late and a mass extinction takes place. Before you criticize me think about it for a while.

Well, I'm not going to criticize you. I guess that if the tilt of the Earth changes significantly, then there really may be some alteration in the weather paterns on our planet.

I'm not sure it's even NEARLY possible to move the moon closer to the Earth though. But who knows, maybe in a hundred years.

Aloha,

There are many other factors, I have many theories to offer, I hope to find the time to do more writing in the future.

Interesting to note, this mirror was place by a soviet lunar landing, and the only real proof that man has ever landed on the moon, having said that, I have to add, that mirror may have also been layed down by robotics.

You mean the only real proof other than all the other crap that's on the surface of the moon from the Apollo landings?

Actually there is a mirror left by the Apollo 11 mission,

1. 1 and 1/2 inches a year comes to 23.67 miles in a million years
2. The mean distance to moon is about 240,000 miles.
3. Gravitational attraction between Earth and the moon is proportional
to the square of the distance between them. The g force between earth
and moon will decrease 0.0197 percent over the next million years.

We have more immediate and pressing problems to think about.

The earth's distance from the sun varies by about 5,000,000 kilometers throughout the year because of its ecentric orbit. Moving this 5,000,000 kilomters closer to the sun throughout the year has little to no impact on the temperature.

Rather, it is the increase in total sunlight hours recieved per day in the summer that causes higher temperatures in the summer.

Further, the moon also has an eccentric oribt. Each month its distance from earth varies from 363,104 km to 405,696 km
