I will have to stop running SETI (or revert to the old SETI@home) unless I find a way to lock my keyboard when I get up from my desk and still run the BOINC SETI screensaver. Seems it won't run if my keyboard is locked. Was this intentionally left out for some technical reason? I just downloaded the M1 boinc just announced today June 23, 04. |

When you say it won't run do you mean that BOINC pops up saying the secure desktop mode has been detected and it is not supported? If so, BOINC is running in the background, it is just currently not able to display the graphics screen. ----- Rom |

Yes, that's what it says. > If so, BOINC is running in the background, it is just currently not able to > display the graphics screen. Good! Strange, though, that the old SETI@home did not have the same issue. No big deal. As long as it's running. |

Is there any idea as to when this will be fixed? I don't know anything about Bonic, this is my first time with it. I was just wondering what the graphics will look like. > When you say it won't run do you mean that BOINC pops up saying the secure > desktop mode has been detected and it is not supported? > > If so, BOINC is running in the background, it is just currently not able to > display the graphics screen. > > ----- Rom > |

However, you can look at the graphics by right clicking on the running WU, and selecting Display Graphics. There are also controls that you can adjust in "Your Account" preferences click SETI@Home "View / Edit" that affect the graphics. jm7 |

In the mean time, you can run BOINC/SETI@home in the background all the time, and use any other low-CPU-utilisation or screen blanking screen saver with password. All you loose is the graphical SETI@home display as a screen saver, which is pretty, but just consumes clock cycles anyway. |
