Maybe I am the only one experiencing problems connecting to the project from time to time when I try to add a new computer to my list. But for some reason it does not seem to work entirely correct. When I detach from a project, for example when the download of the setiathome_3.08_windows_intelx86.exe fails due to CRC errors, and I try to re-attach to the project again for the same computer this computer will appear twice (or more times eventually) in my computer list. Now I know that it is possible to delete a host from that list, but when I try do such such thing I get an error message that active results remain. Result is that the computer is not deleted from my list.

Now is it that from administrative point of view these doubles will be removed somehow at some later time? Or can I do that at a later time when these 'ghost' results are being removed when it finally appears that they will never be returned to the data server?

Instead of Deleting the host, click to 'merge this computer'. You will then be presented with a choice of computers that you wish to merge together.

I also had this happen when I had to re-install BOINC on one of my machines, but merging the duplicates together neatly sorted the problem.

I hope this helps :-)

Yes, thank you! That really helped to clear out my list of machines. Except for one. It seems that BOINC got the idea somehow that one of my machines is equipped with an AMD Athlon XP 2400+. However the machine is only 1800+. But it appears as both in my list now. And of course it is not possible to join the 2400+ with the 1800+ (both do have the same name). I guess I'll just have to wait and see whether I get the opportunity to get rid of it at a later time, maybe when fictuous results have been removed?
