Waa Waa Waa...Americans are the lowest taxed people in the entire industrial world.

Actually no we're not.

I've known many people who have lived in the US and have lived in European and South American countries. The US, from what THEY say (with Honest to God Practical Experience) is that the US is not the bargain many make it out to be. When you consider that the US has Federal and state taxes in addition to the various sales and property taxes the tax load often comes in higher.

But don't let any little facts interupt your rant.

You've got the same thing in Europe, like the UK has VAT, Council Taxes, Inland Revenue, Road Tax, Fuel Tax (from hell), National Insurance, State Pension Tax (Social Security), etc.

I've worked in Israel and 55% of my gross income was taken out of my paycheck, then they have VAT from hell, blah blah blah....

Rant over...

For a government that's supposed to get off of your back, they sure like getting into your uterus...

Governement is worried about getting into your wallet more.

Waa Waa Waa...Americans are the lowest taxed people in the entire industrial world.
What do you think your childrens taxes are going to be when the markers for a 8 trillion dollar
national debt come due. Bill the Iraqi's?

If we owe the money to ourselves why cant we just forgive our own Debt?

We do it for other nations all the time.

Tell your bank the same thing about your credit cards and see what happens.
The US government does have a credit rating and creditors. You wouldn't want
to loan them any more money if they went into default, especially unilateraly.
OK, you were joking, I think...

Yes sorta kidding, But we lone money to other contries but we dont have loans
to pay back to other countries,,,If I owe the bank money then I have to pay it back. But our deficet is ours the american people, If we wiped out the Debt, we would loose a little in the world's eyes and some credit ratings somewhere
but it would be better in the long run, Wouldn't it?

Chile: 18% on everything and a 0-deficit import legislation.

That means that in order to buy a $2000 computer made in Japan, you've got to export at least $2360 of grapes to France.

I don't know what the personal income tax is.

Exporting grapes to France??? :-O

I suppose you're sarcastic as this would be just as easy as selling sand to Sahara! And freezers to Siberia! So no Japanese computers sold to anyone in Chile, huh?

Fusion project is dealt big blow
The Senate voted early yesterday to stop construction of the nation's costliest science project, a laser roughly the size of a football stadium that is meant to harness fusion, the process that powers the sun...

Whoop...whoop...whoop (blue lights flashing)...the spelling police have pulled you over.

"Baught" is spelt "bought."

And don't try telling me that's the way they spell it on Vulcan...tell it to the judge.

But ociffer, "baught" looks like it would sound like 'bawt', while "bought" looks like it would sound like 'boat' or 'bowt'. >;-) Thanks for setting me straight, ociffer. Now get these damned cuffs off!

There is no Vulcan word for "bought". The closest would be mahr-tor which is "buy". >:-)

Cunningham skips holiday events

July 4, 2005

ENCINITAS – Embattled Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham canceled his public appearances at community events scheduled for today, his spokesman said.

Cunningham, R-Rancho Santa Fe, was to attend a pancake breakfast here this morning, among other holiday events. His speech at the Encinitas Fourth of July Community Celebration and Pancake Breakfast was to be his first public appearance in the two weeks since he has become the subject of investigations by the FBI, the U.S. Attorney's Office and a grand jury in connection with his financial dealings with a defense contractor.

"It is clear from all the advanced publicity that any Fourth of July celebration he is scheduled to attend will become a media frenzy," Cunningham's press secretary Mark Olson said last night.

The eight-term congressman and his wife, Nancy, did not want "to detract from community events celebrating our country's freedom," Olson said.

Don't feel bad Misfit for your congressman, that's just the tip of a very large iceberg. Here in Clark County, Nevada 4 of the 6 commissioners in the last two years are under Federal inditement, or were convicted of Racketeering in one form or another. 4 of the 12 city councel persons have met the same fate. Business as usual in government. On the bright side of things, the Democrates and Republicans were evenly split in screwing the tax payers and lining their pockets.

Now only if the Feds would do something about the police department, health inspectors, and building inspectors...
