I have an AMD Athlon 64bit CPU and am running Windows XP Professional x64 on my laptop.

I know that the 64Bit edition of WinXPPro is derived from the same codebase as Windows 2003 Server 64Bit, but I just thought I'd point out that they're being reported as the same OS as you can see in the link above... :)

What does Windows show? Right click "My Computer", click "Properties". The Windows version is after "System:" and the CPU info is after "Computer:". Should be the same as what BOINC picks up.

Erm... last time I looked, 2k3 meant 2000 + 3 or 2003, which is just what the Version is. IMO BOINC's reporting the correct platform.

Correct platform yes - correct OS no.
I am running Windows XP Professional 64bit - not Windows 2003 Server.
Yes its partially the same codebase, but I am running XP Pro - not Windows Server.

Boinc didnt say that you are runing Windows2003.
It says that you are running Version 2003 from Windows XP Pro 64
