what's new in 4.18? should i use tetsuji(spelling?)'s new optimized client instead? If you are going to use an optimized client on this project you may want to pick on from marisan.nl/seti. Tetsuji Maverick Rai's new one on the "Seti Beta" thread is only for the SETI beta project. What's new in 4.18 is that they have fixed the graphics for the ATI video cards. With the optimized clients you will have no graphics as they have been removed for speed. I'm not sure what else has changed for 4.18. ID: 127876 · |

what's new in 4.18? should i use tetsuji(spelling?)'s new optimized client instead? Make sure you use Tetsuji's optimized clients for the normal SETI project (yaoscw). His newest clients (osecw) are for the seti beta project. I'm already crunching new 4.18 WU's with the yaoscw 4.11 application and the results are validating ok. From the main page: "June 22, 2005 We have released the SETI@home application version 4.18 for windows and Mac OS X. Graphics are now available for Mac OS X. The Windows release fixes an ATI graphics bug." Greetings, Speedy67
