I posted before, I have my classic seti@home password, and i even had it sent to me again today, i can still log on to seti but when i try and activate my account on boinc, or when i try to link to my old seti account with the password I get an error saying something along the lines of: "must enter email address" or i get an error saying "this email address is invalid" its not invalid on seti so why dont boinc like it...

I dont see why you techys have to always mess things up and add new features and more stuff that we dont need just so that your software and websites do more, or because you want a change... seti@home was great until boinc came along and stuffed it up, if it was perfected you wouldnt have the Q & A filled with website problems. I want an easy transfer so can somebody GIVE ME AN EMAIL ADDRESS with a direct contact who can activate my account for me without using this site, because this site is hard to navigate, has no 'contact us' that i can see and therefore makes lives dificalt when you give out answers that i dont want to here, im not stupid and know i have tried every possible solution excluding 1, and im not changing my email address just so i have more to remember and more for your site to go wrong with, fix the problem please, or tell me how to contact somebody who can transfer my existing account without the use of this boring, plain, hard to navigate, site (my account does work i sign on to seti and get packets, my password still works and i can still see my stats by entering my email but boinc doesnt like my password or email).

once again my email is
DMA_1985@hotmail.com
my user name you can see on this post and this email is used on my seti and boinc account all i want is to transfer my seti onto boinc before i get left in dust with no work units and have to start again

You should be able to attach to your classic data with either your password or your email address from classic. If you still can not, it should update when the next and final snapshot is taken of classic if your email addresses are the same in both places (this is mostly to cover those that have created a classic account since the last snapshot, but works for those that have an older one and are having trouble). Just make very certain that you keep your email accounts closely synchronized, and if possible, I would not change email addresses for the next couple of months.

If we all start at zero, then why the f**k should the classic be taken down after all OUR efforts?

we should beable to keep adding seeing as this site has the words "setiathome" in the address and the logo also reads this.

How does your comment help me? it doesnt. Its a sarky comment that helps me in no way. Next time think before typing a reply, if it is witty and gets me no closer to getting what i want then I dont want to hear it, thanks.

Thanks for your help, I will keep trying to solve this, I just hope that the snapshot works if I cannot find another fix, Don't worry about E-Mail changes, I dont usually change them, I just get a new address when I am riddled with SPAM but keep the old for accounts like seti.

Can I ask what you mean by synchronized accounts? I am using the same email in seti classic and in the new seti/boinc site but i dont understand how to keep them synchronized, please explain.

Your BOINC account seems not to be connected to your Classic one yet.

You can do that here :

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_email_form.php

The last input section on that page allows to link two existing accounts and join Classic to BOINC.

Once that's done, the final update from Classic to BOINC will give credit to your Classic workunits. I don't expect any synchronisation anymore before the end of Classic so some patience might be required.
