Hi,
I recently installed BOINC on a dual-boot (really old) PC. When I run the program under linux, I get lines similar to the following

Running CPU benchmarks. . .
CPU benchmarks timed out, using default values
Running CPU benchmarks. . .

ie, the benchmarks just repeat forever. When I boot into windows, BOINC calculates the benchmarks in 1 or 2 minutes, then is ready to go. Why doesn't it work in Linux? Has anyone else had this problem?

Maybe your old computer is too slow causing overflow in benchmark routine. Boinc run fine on my laptop running Mandrake 10.2.
