Can anybody offer some advise on the transfer of my classic seti account to the new BIONC system.

I started using the classic seti s/ware some 4 to 5 years ago, during this period I procesed over 2000 work units. However I do not remember the password I set on this account !!! , I know the email address but this was a place of work account that has been disabled for a long time now so I am unable to receive the automated sending of the password reminder.

With this in mind how on earth do I find out what the password is. I have opened a new BIONC account that is running smoothly but would dearly like the credit amassed on the old s/ware to be transferred to my new account.

My old and new accounts have the same name "G4KMP" and some readers may recognise that this as a Radio Amatuer callsign. Is there a way I can send a copy of my operating license by way of confirming my identity ?

Any help would be appreciated.........

Did you leave that firm on good standing?

What you might do is call the resident network geek and tell him your plight. Ask him to reopen that email account and promise him that as soon as that email is sent and he forwards it to you that you'll never ask another thing from him as long as he lives.

I had a similar problem. There is NO way of getting the old password. I wrote an email to Dr. Anderson, briefly explained what happened, offered proof of Identity, and he moved my AOL credits over to this account. I lost any proof of my original sign up date (jul 6 1999) but I did get my credits.

Send a note to Dr. Anderson, his email is here:
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/contact.php
He resets them ALL THE TIME! Be NICE, he is the ONLY one that does this!
Explain the problem as accurately as possible, he can reset both the password and the email for the account. Then BE PATIENT he is not a one armed paper hanger BUT is as busy as one!
