I know about the planned outages, but this has gone on for me for 12 hours now and others I have asked on some irc channels are not having a problem. So why would I consistently be getting the dreaded 'no schedular responded' message for the last 12 hrs. Web access is OK and the computer has been re-booted a few times today due to various updates.

18/06/2005 9:09:52 PM|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi
18/06/2005 9:09:52 PM|SETI@home|Requesting 0 seconds of work, returning 11 results
18/06/2005 9:09:56 PM|SETI@home|Scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi failed
18/06/2005 9:09:56 PM|SETI@home|No schedulers responded
18/06/2005 9:09:57 PM|SETI@home|Deferring communication with project for 59 seconds

What's interesting in all this is that every request has been deferred for 59 seconds and is not backing off.

Live long and crunch.

I'm getting the same problem. I have been able to download in the last before the outage, but I've have the scheduler error for the last 4 days. However I could still upload and download WU. Tracert resolves the address.

A major problem I've got is the WU that have been processed by the PCs and uploaded are still classified as "New" on the web!! This is happening on all my PCs. I think this is related to me not being able to contact the scheduler. I'm also co-sharing EAH on one PC and that works fine. I've reset the SAH project, suspended EAH, but no change.

Hi,

i have the same problem now since 14th of june.

18/06/2005 17:14:32||request_reschedule_cpus: project op
18/06/2005 17:14:33|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi
18/06/2005 17:14:33|SETI@home|Requesting 0 seconds of work, returning 31 results
18/06/2005 17:14:44|SETI@home|Scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi failed
18/06/2005 17:14:44|SETI@home|No schedulers responded
18/06/2005 17:14:45|SETI@home|Deferring communication with project for 58 seconds

tracert is here O.K., too. Upload of wus works fine. Report/Download of wus is not possible, because i do not get a connection with the scheduler. Using CC4.45 on W2KSP4 and connection is dial-up.

Anybody advice, explanation, ideas ??

not here
It work fine until I attached to SETI@Home Beta on the 15 Jun which uses setiathome_4.00_windows_intelx86.exe
It looks like I received wu but none made to my computer, but the web page [my account] says I have received them.
It looks like boinc is looking to link the seti wu to 4.18 not to 4.11.

Maybe this helps solving this. Makes it impossible to hold an adequate cachesize if outages happen.

I have one on dial up that has not been able to update or Download since 22:00 UTC on 6/17/05. It has, however been able to upload, just not able to report.

I know about the planned outages, but this has gone on for me for 12 hours now and others I have asked on some irc channels are not having a problem. So why would I consistently be getting the dreaded 'no schedular responded' message for the last 12 hrs. Web access is OK and the computer has been re-booted a few times today due to various updates.....

wrrr.... I have exactly the same
others computers from my localnet join magnificently, only this what sharing net all the time has: No schedulers responded

Hmm, i'm having no problems at all.
Returning results, contacting Scheduler & downloading new work no problems at all. Just did so 5 minutes ago.

I'm running v4.19, Win98SE, no firewall.

Maybe this is relevant.
From the Tech News page.

"June 14, 2005 - 19:00 UTC
....
This morning we configured the SETI@home classic master science database server to be the new BOINC scheduler while leaving the actual file upload/download on its current server. As the DNS changes slowly take effect both systems are acting as schedulers, but eventually there will be a clean split.

"June 16, 2005 - 19:00 UTC
Since most (well over 99%) of scheduler accesses were now reaching the new scheduling server, we shut down the scheduler on the old server (which now only handles uploads/downloads)."

Possibly your systems are still contacting the old, now non-existant Scheduler- your DNS haven't yet caught up?

I'm having precisely the same problem on both of my PC machines. Mac is running fine. Schedulars are not responding. I finaly reset one of the machines to see if that helps. Lost work that was trying to upload . . . and failing. I can not believe how difficult working with SETI is. Been doing it for several years in classic SETI. The BOINC experience is becoming absurd.

Grant,
Your tracert report my one match up, so I don't suspect DNS. I've had an ongoing problem since the failure last week. Like the others here I could download/upload but not update preferences or clear the "ready to report" results. I assume these are based on the scheduler. Now I can't even do any WU, and have received no credit for any units in a week. Running 4.45, XP/SP2 on an P4-HT, BTW, I hope you did your civic duty and voted yesterday ;)

I agree with Carol and Tom. I may try an earlier version of BOINC and see if it may work or try and detach/reattach when I get time.

After reseting the SETI project I was able to reach a scheduler, but it did not request work beyond a single work unit even though I have a 6 day network connect period . . . initially. After about 5 minutes I did manage to get a normal download of files . . . we will see.

I also have some messages again and again every minute:
19.06.05 3:44:07|SETI@home|Requesting 0 seconds of work, returning 3 results
19.06.05 3:44:14|SETI@home|Scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi failed

19.06.05 3:45:15|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi

I tried to open http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi in a browser and recieved these results:
468 Incomplete request received. You seem to be viewing this page in a WWW browser. Visit the main page.

Then after few seconds IExplorer trys open this page http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu and has a message:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.

For Predictor scheduler http://predictor.scripps.edu/predictor_cgi/cgi I have another answer in the browser:
435 Incomplete request received. You seem to be viewing this page in a WWW browser. Visit the main page.
Then project's main page is opened.

I don't want to reset with 26 results ready to report.

As said earlier....uploads work a treat. Just can't connect to a schedular. Going out for a while, so I will check it out later and maybe downgrade my boinc client later and see if that works out.

It wasn't meant to be opened with a browser, but with the BOINC application instead
