The proof of globel warming has become overwalming(in my eyes). But the US presadent Bush denies it. He has set goals to return to the moon (which i am not exactly agint), but does not want to give NASA more money. So, the money is being taken from Earth Science which studies globel warming and other effects of polltion on the earth. I beleve he is playing a shell game to hide the truth.
But, what i want to know is weather yall beleve globel warming is happening? and weather money should be used more for studying earth or exploration or more money should be provided for both?

...clearly "No Child Left Behind" is not working.

My apologies if that sounded inflammatory, but the frequency and caliber of your misspellings got on my nerves.

I would suggest that the administration should rectify two egregious errors: Accord to the Kyōto Protocol and further the progress of the International Space Station.

It seems I missed the window for editing, so here's what I would have edited in: Implementing the Kyōto Protocol would cost nothing and the funding for the remaining sections of the International Space Station has already been allocated.

Again, my apologies for sounding snooty and inflammatory.

BUSH ONLY DOES WHAT HIS CONTRIBUTORS TELL HIM TO DO, i.e. MOBIL/EXXON, ROYAL DUTCH SHELL, BP, CHEVRON, CONOCO, PHILLIPS, GETTY, UNOCAL, ARCO, TOTAL, TEXACO, AMOCO, AND PIGGLY-WIGGLY.

Nooo in Scotland it's CALIBRE, but in the US where NA is it's CALIBER :)

Science has yet to come to a unaninimous conclusion whether Earth is suffering from global warming or not. It is tough to dump billions into a project that can't agree that Earth actually has a problem. Not that disagreement has very stopped the US before..

I agree with NA that the US needs to live up to it's current obligation with the International Space Station and The Kyoto Protocols, but as Dogbytes pointed out that may be somewhat difficult.

Only a fool doesn't believe in global warming, we would still be in an iceage without it. Now the question is can humans cause it?
Consider large forest fires, by some accounts, they dumped 5x what us "all powerful" humans do in an entire year (and they did so in months). Then we have volcanos, which in even shorter periods can release even more. Then there are dozens of recognized feedbacks, where their effects are not known entirely. A wrong value being attached to just one of those... suddenly we are cooling the world off (or we become Venus).

Besides change isn't always bad. A small increase in temps might be a good thing, opening more arable land. Who knows the few degree increase might shrink some desert areas (heat yeilds evapopration which should mean more rain). It all depends on degrees.

Still looking for something profound or inspirational to place here.

As the atmosphere becomes warmer, it can hold more moisture. When it cools even slightly and that moisture comes out, it is sometimes violent. Hurricanes and tornados are sometimes spawned.

If you never considered that the threadstarter is possibly dyslexic/dislexic (I checked, it can go both), NA, then you missed out on at least one weather that should've been whether. ;)

As a rule, most of us, NA included, do not criticize spelling and/or grammar. But in this case, if the original post is to be taken seriously, then one of the defining words of the subject being spelled incorrectly gives one reason to question the poster's understanding of the term.

It wasn't a simple typo, as the error was made more than once; it doesn't seem to be dyslexia as it wasn't a q|p, d|b or other mirror letter substitution; it is not an alternative spelling that I could find. All those errors can be easily overlooked (and some were, in the original post), but when the actual subject is so unfamiliar that the poster doesn't even know how to spell it, I, for one, have to question the post's validity.

Now as for global warming, meaning the recent rise in average temperatures that some have linked to human factors, we just had a very cold and snowy winter in the Sierras (but not in the Southern Canadian Rockies) while a few years back the American Rockies had little snow (and the Southern Canadian Rockies got lots of snow). So where is the evidence? In the last ten years we've seen unseasonably cool Summers in the Midwest, and very warm Winters in the Southwest. I appears that people get in a frenzy when this year's weather is different than last year, but differences from year to year are a constant. Global warming? More like globel warming . . .

Actually it can't dys is latin for Abnormal, impaired. Lextic is Speech. to be dyslexic means you have abnormal speech.

Dis is latin for negative. The case of your seconds spelling that would imply negative speech.

FYI being Dyslextic doesn't always apply to the written word. I have a friend who will go left if you tell him right. We actually have to give him directions backwards or write them down as he can read normally. So if we write right he will go right. If we say left he will still go right.

Could it mean The poster just cant spell correctly, He writes they way he pronuoces his words. If he is from the swamps of loisiana that would acount for his misgivings. I will type disfuctioally especially when I am tired or type in the dark. I use the seek and discovery methoud of typing, because my brain is wired differently I cannot memorize the locations of the letters and I have to look at the ketboard to type them in.

If i lived in the swamps of LA. i would be worried about global warming to
and wheater iw will an effect it might have on my swamp....

No speall chek hear just my raw words typ in.....

Don't get me started on some of the more obscure Scottish spellings....

On climate change though: it plainly has to be a real effect, whether man made (or influenced) or otherwise. In Europe the last 10 years or so have been the "hottest on record", yet I remember from my school days learning about the "mini ice age" in the 18th century when the River Thames in London froze solid for weeks. These are just extremes in local climate, let alone the global climate.

I am lucky enough to live on the edge of the Southern Uplands of Scotland, surrounded by dramatic evidence of past climate change. Within 10 miles of me are several glens hollowed out by huge glaciers long since gone.

The point that I think needs to be addressed is not how to stop it, but how to cope with climate change. I doubt very much there is anything that we mortals can do to prevent climate change in the long term. Reduction of greenhouse gases is a good thing in it's own right, but will it make a difference to the global climate?

BTW it's been driech here today.

Actually it can't

CW.. you fill it in in Google. I've got 12,100 English pages for dislexic including some major English (.co.uk) ones. I also got a nice one from the US Navy. Then again, Americans can't pronounce easy things as aluminium and Giganotosaurus anyway, so why do I bother? ;)

Plus it may be spelled (and spelt) that way in languages other than English. :)
So don't 'stare yourself blind' on a dictionary. Besides (nudge) who in the New World is fascinated by the Old World languages anyway? ;)

2 edits later. Apperently a person needs more than 2 hours sleep in 48+ hours. which would be fine, if only my stressed out muscles would let me sleep. Nothing said about the Red Arrows flying low over our flat, 2 hours after I apparently finally managed to fall asleep after having been up for 26 hours.

I'll go back to playing GTA SA, see if that tires me out. :)
