Message 124276 - Posted: 16 Jun 2005, 17:56:54 UTC
Last modified: 16 Jun 2005, 18:08:03 UTC

I have joined the orbit@home project. Alas this has a different cross project ID to the other projects I joined.

I used a different email addres, so I assume this is why. I also assume that the cross-project id is what is used to create the total stats for BOINC as a whole.

My question is how do I join my old projects under an old email addy with the new project and new email addy?

Thanks

Make sure they're all set to the same (current) e-mail address.

Also, You get a new CPID when you first join a project and it may take a day or so for new projects to adopt the "master" CPID (typically the one for the project you joined first).

Many thanks for the prompt reply. I have adjusted the email address for the orbit project back to my old email addy The CPID is different but hopefully this will sync with the master CPID in the next day or so.

I may be wrong but for it to sync up i believe you will have to crunch a few units for orbit first.

You do not have to curnch, but the client does have to contact the scheduler successfully at least twice.

Arhh, that may take awhile as Orbit@home are only taking sign ups at the moment, no application as yet as far as I know. I will keep an eye on CPID over the next few days to see if it syncs or not.

Our posts must have crossed, sorry did not see your reply John. Looks like there is no scheduler running yet, not sure what will happen if I try to connect in this state, I guess nothing, but will this get the CPID to sync?
