I noticed that when I close my notebook, which then goes into hibernation mode, and open it again, the BOINC (Hate that acronym- looks like I'm yelling something off-color) Manager reports, for example,

6/15/2005 8:30:54 AM|SETI@home|Result 05no03aa.15866.8992.915908.186_1 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file
6/15/2005 8:30:54 AM|SETI@home|If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project.
6/15/2005 8:30:57 AM|SETI@home|Restarting result 05no03aa.15866.8992.915908.186_1 using setiathome version 4.11

Is lacking a finished file an issue? Have I lost work? Any downside?

May this Farce be with You

I've often seen this message when another program crash or in someway freezes the CPU. It's never caused any real problem to BOINC as far as I can tell. Only a little lost crunch time.

I get the same thing after coming back from hibernate or suspend on my laptop. Been doing it that way for years, over three different laptops, with no problems. Always resumes successfully.

Carry on!
