Why cant SETI@Home keep things running?

We are back online after recovering from a file server crash. We will receive an OS revision soon that should prevent this from happening again. In the meantime we are refraining from doing snapshots (a backup method) on the file server as active snapshots seem to be part of the problem.

Update: data service is back online as of 04:15 UTC.

June 7, 2005
The file server containing the upload/download storage hung again. It is rebooting now and will have to resync its RAID before we can restart data service

If its Up then explain this

Hey equipment fails, software has bugs, ISPs go down, and on top of this Boinc Seti may run out of work on occassion.... So be patient, attach to more projects be happy, smile, laugh, life is short.......

I understand that but look at there history....

I stoped new work till SETI@Home gets it together and it now looks like its working (wonder for how long)

I know about the other projects but I only run SETI@Home 24/7 (it worked a lot better when we were testing the bata SETI@Home.) I just needed to vent... I did notice it goes down when they add somthing to it....so I hope they learned somthing this time and dont fix it if its not broken..
