When opening the Boinc Manager (assuming you are using the GUI), you need to go to the tab "Projects" and use the "Attach to new project". Please check first you see at the right bottom corner that the Manager is "connected to localhost".

If this is not the case, this can be due to a Firewall that needs to permit access.

Once the attach to new project is clicked, in the pop up windows that will come up, you need to enter the URL of Boinc/S@H which is
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu
and the account key. For this last, be sure not having a space at the beginning or at the end of it.

The rest should follow automatically.
