It would be great to have the status of the server and how many work units are available on the website, and maybe also on the BOINC client. That way if you have problems you can check that first and easily find out if it is the SETI end or the user's end which is causing the problems.
This would greatly limit the number of people stressing about why they are having problems and limit the problems to real problems.

Yes it would, at least we see when they have a problem and when they have fixed it.
