Hi there, I have Seti@Home/Boinc 4.43. This error happened with verion 4.25 also. Seti@Home runs as my screensaver. When the computer leaves Screensaver mode, I get the following error: 'The instruction at "0x69405882" referenced memory at "0x00000044". The memory could not be "read".' Interestingly, the title of the box says "setiathome_4.0.9_indows_intel86.exe", but this is Boinc 4.43. Boinc 4.0.9 has never been installed on this machine. Here are my computer specs: Sony VAIO PCV-RX560 ATI Radeon 9550, running Driver 6.14.10.6525 Boinc 4.43 Any help is appreciated. -= Stefan |

If you look closer at the message, it says its seti 4.0.9. Thats the science application that crunches the WU. Which gets started by BOINC, which manages the WU's and science apps. The address - 0x69405882 - isn't part of seti or boinc, and is where drivers and dlls get loaded. Like graphics drivers, very likely since you say it was in the screensaver. You say you have an ATI card, which is known to not work right with BOINC. And some of the science applications. Best bet is to disable the BOINC screensaver - set it to "none" or "blank" in the Display Properties dialog. |

I have also had exactly the same problem and I also have an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro card. I will try disabling the BOINC screensaver as you suggest. However I wonder why there is such a problem with such a widely used card. Perhaps they will make a "fix" for it. Thanks. |
