Hi Rach

Nice to see you back here.
I would look at this for a couple of days, but i never lost a result since the big server crash.
Turn off network access, so you can count your finnished results before uploading.
Then check again, if you get trouble switch back.

This looks like a normal end of WU sequence. The WU completed, and more work was requested, and the upload of the result started, and more work started downloading. This all appears to be happening all at the same time.

Ok. BOINC v4.43 seems to be working just fine, I think. What I'd like to know is why do I not have any WUs for SETI? I have "Updated" twice and nothing. It's not requesting more work. I can understand this with LHC, they HAVE no work. SETI's server status page is showing plenty of work for download. I'm not getting any messages except that the scheduler has succeeded. Anyone else running into the "lack of WUs" scenario? Thanks....

Siran, the scheduler probably thinks you're in jepordy of missing other project deadlines, so it isn't asking for any new work from SETI. It can take a day or two for things to settle down with the new core client scheduler. Once it's going, it's pretty amazing to see the decisions it makes on what to work on. :)

I have one E@H WU running, one waiting to run and 2 waiting for upload. None are in jeopardy of going over the deadline[s]. I re-started CPDN just so I have something else to crunch in the mean time. It has 8 more months on it's deadline. I have only the one CPDN WU.

I was having no problem up/downloading SETI until I noticed it today when I ran out of WUs. Uploading is working fine, updating is working fine, downloading is a not-happening event. I'm getting no red messages from SETI, only LHC, CPDN and E@H. Go Figure....

Look at the long term debts in the client_state.xml file. S@H probably has a negative LT debt, and therefore is not downloading work in order to balance resource share. Its debt will work its way back into positive territory in a while, and it will start being asked for work again. When the new scheduler is running with a small cache, you can expect that projects will run dry and then request work again after an hour or two. The exception would be if a result has needed panic mode to complete on time. In that case it may well be longer than an hour or two before work is requested. Please remember that the value in LT debt is in seconds, and it will look rather large even for fairly short times.

Thanks for the info, not sure I fully understand it yet but will. I checked and you are right the LT debt is negative [-172702.039347]. This number calculates out to almost 48 hours. That's quite a long time to wait for WUs when there are WUs available for download. Is this a new "feature" of v4.43 BOINC?

It is a part of a new feature. This means that the project has needed an extra 48 hours of processing to get some work in on time. The penalty for this is that the project will not be downloading work for a while to balance the resource shares that you have set.

Well, it didn't take 48 hours. I'm crunching SETI again. Still CPDN. No LHC [no surprise there]. And, no E@H now. Weird....

Expect to get E@H back requesting in a few hours. It is even more fun with more projects to watch it figure out what to crunch next, when to stop requesting work from anywhere, when to go into panic mode...

The last time BOINC communicated with E@H was 11:52 this morning, Pacific Time [California USA]. No message about deferring communications or anything. Last message was that scheduler request succeeded. Maybe I should do a manual update to see what happens....

It's not deferring communications. The BOINC client on your machine has decided that E@H is "ahead" of its resource share, so time is being devoted to projects that are "behind" until they get caught up.
