I've searched the forum and apparently the long term debt for a computer is in the app_info.xml file?

I can't open this file.

Can someone please tell me where to find out this long term debt? I couldn't find it in the client 4.43?

Also is negative or positive better?

I am only running SETI.

As you are only running seti I think the long term debt has no real relevance for you;) Anyway, you can find it in the client_state.xml file - but you would need to do one of the following in order to open that file and not get any error:

1) make a copy of the file, and open the copy
2) close boinc and then open the file

I'm opening it in Notepad all the time (with Open With...) without a single error. Only if you try to change something in the client_state.xml file would it be necessary to exit Boinc.

If you are only running a single project, the LT debt will be 0. It will go through a couple of steps everytime that it is calculated that ensure that it is 0. First it will add the time that it expected to get for the project, then it will subtract the time that it actually got, and then it will shift so that the mean LT debt for all projects is 0. The end result is that single project hosts will have a 0 LT debt always.
