Bionic is running fine on my win xp system....but!....I know there is supposed to be a screen saver for seti project, but the only way I can actually SEE it is in preview mode when I set what saver I want...trick is though...when bionic crunches climate numbers a pretty little planet comes up to view...so why dont seti show something? |

Did you install BOINC (just one "I") as a service? |

I am not sure I understand the question. If you can see the Climate Prediction screen saver, you should also see one when SETI@Home is being processed. Einstein@Home and LHC@Home also have a screen saver. Of the main production projects only Perdictor@Home does not yet have a screen saver. Of the Alpha and Beta projects I don't have good information about them at this time. |

If you are unlucky enough to have an ATI card and are running 4.25 or above, it really doesn't matter if one projects screensaver works. There is apparently no rhyme nor reason, but it's borked. Of those of us unfortunates with ATI cards: Some people have graphics on all projects. Some people have no graphics at all. Some people have graphics on a project or two, but not on all projects. Some people have graphics that only run intermittently. Note that grapics work fine on 4.19 and below, so why the mystery is beyond me... |

I may not have explained myself well enough...I am attached to 2 projects...seti and climate...when my pc switches to screen saver mode, I can see what its doing when it crunches climate, but when it crunches seti its blank...but, whats confusing, is if I call up the desktop/properties/screensaver/preview...I can actually see what the screen saver SHOULD look like for seti(if thats whats working at the time) I just would like to know WHY i can see it when its supposed to change on its own...Its not the sevice setting cause then I wouldnt see it when climate crunches and its not the graphics card cause then I wouldnt see anything any time...any other ideas? I'm open to suggestions...thanks to any and all who try to help by the way.... |

ATI didn't like the the desktop and window station API's being called on the current window station and desktop. Sorry it took so long to get fixed, I finally got ahold of a machine with an ATI card that I could run enough tests on to figure out the problem. ----- Rom BOINC Development Team, U.C.
