I used my girlfriends laptop as my 2nd computer in Seti.
Since she uses Seti too now and want the credits for herself (damn! :) ), i'm having the problem: how to "transfer" her PC from my seti account to hers - including the achieved credits (!!).

Anyone can help me there?

Thanx in advance.

Edit:
She already has an account with a pc (her main one), so the option: "create a new account" is NO option.

best regards,

Reckon there's a pretty good chance that the credits claimed on her machine for your account are gonna have to stay on your account. Just tell her you're sorry. She'll get over it.

Perhaps some flowers might help, or dinner and a movie.

Very nice, by the way... using your girlfriend's computer to rack up points on your own account. LoL. As a means of apology, I think you should simply hand over to her your entire account and all of it's credits. This will force you to start over again from scratch with a zero balance, to pay for your sins. ;)

Happy Crunching!

Seriously though, any credits her machine contributed to your account, will stay with your account forever. However, she can certainly detach the laptop from your account now, and re-attach to SETI with her own account key so it crunches for her. That's about all you can do I think.

Madace, I've never had to do this so hopefully others will correct me if I'm wrong, but...

I would think that you simply open up Boinc Manager for that host (the laptop), go to the projects tab, highlight Seti@Home, then choose the option to 'Detach this computer from this Project'. Make sure that you report any outstanding work units for that machine first, or you will lose them when you detach.

Then it should just be a matter of attaching to Seti@Home again from her laptop, only this time entering her account key instead of yours.

And what happens with the credits from the laptop which had been "collected" to this point?
Will they stay with me, stay with the new account (and with the laptop) or will they be gone for good?

Those credits are yours now. The laptop earned them for your account, and they will stay in your totals always. They are not tied to the laptop itself. People retire old machines all the time, it would be kind of silly for BOINC to take away all the credits a particular machine earned for you. You cannot transfer the credits to your girlfriend's account. Once again, they are associated with your ID, as you can see to the left under your avatar.

Once you detach the laptop from your account, you will still see it listed there temporarily until all of the old results get purged from the database. This is not a problem, your girlfriend can still re-attach it right away using her own account key. It will simply be listed for both of you for a short while until the old results get purged. It will be actively crunching under her name though and accumulating credits for her.

I think you're making it much more difficult than it really is. Just detach the laptop, and re-attach it to your girlfriend's account. Report any outstanding workunits first. You may wish to uninstall the BOINC software from the laptop altogether and do a clean re-install to make sure all your old user data is gone from it.
